Michael Jackson, M.A.

He is completing a doctoral degree in Higher Education/Administration at Iowa State University. He obtained a B.A. in Criminology from Missouri State University, and has a Masters of Art degree in Political Science from Iowa State University. In 2019, he was selected to share his research, “Exploring Leadership Capacities & Experiences of African American Male College Presidents,” at the 21st Annual International Leadership Conference in Ottawa, Canada.
Before transitioning to academe, he effectively held several leadership positions in the business sector, and successfully led a fortune 500 company, while overseeing approximately 2600 associates. His hobbies include reading, running (full/half marathons), travelling, and horseback riding.
Two noteworthy quotes that he often reflects on and guide his practice are:
(1) Treat a man as he is and he will remain as he is. Treat a man as he can and should be and he will become as he can and should be.
(2) Start by doing what’s necessary, then do what’s possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible.
