Regenea Hurte

Regenea serves an Equal Opportunity Specialist within the Office of Equal Opportunity. Her responsibilities include investigating claims of discrimination and harassment under Iowa State’s Discrimination and Harassment Policy, investigating matters involving Title IX, facilitating discussions and mediations centering on discrimination or harassment, and providing training to faculty, staff and students on similar issues.

Regenea joined the Office of Equal Opportunity in October 2018. She brings to ISU her prior legal experience as a Prosecutor, Public Defender, civil, and public benefits attorney, as well as non-profit and legislative advocacy organization director. Regenea is dedicated to the rights of all to have meaningful equality, justice, dignity, and happiness, which has been evident throughout her career and continues to fuel all of her endeavors.

Regenea hails from Maryland and is a proud 2001 graduate of Bowie State University in Bowie, Maryland with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Regenea went on to earn her law degree in 2004 from the University of Tennessee College of Law in Knoxville, Tennessee. Regenea is fiercely devoted to her family and friends, concerned with and involved in her community, and an avid pro-football fan.
